A big thx to all the Friends of The Purl

You guys saved my everloving knitting and crocheting butt if ya wanna know. I was on the very eve of destruction as the song goes. Now to keep us going and stayin alive stayin alive you must keep coming in and take a class or teach a class and buying yarn to keep the Purl here in Silverton. That's the only way it works for us to have the kind of shops we want and need in our lives. Homegrown, surviving and thriving that's us.

I've lived in the Molalla/Silverton area for years and had never heard of your shop until a couple of days ago (from my SIL who lives in Milwaukie).

I hope to come and see the shop this week. I'd love to take a class, and I'd love to learn how to knit socks, but it's been a long time since I've knitted and I'd need a beginner class first.

Carole, thx so much for your comment. I made the rent for last month and now it's slowed down again! WE just have to keep going for the betterment of the community. We are forming a Friends of The Purl District now and hope to raise enough $$ each month beyond sales to insure the future of knitting in the Mid-Willamette Valley......you are included. Tell your knitting friends we'd love to have them!

I'll tell people I know....

Hopefully things will pick up for you with the holidays coming.

things have picked up some but the main problem is ongoing overhead costs like rent utilities, stocking, paying off loans for the shop. I have no more $4 or time little energy. It has to get resolved this month or I'm austa la bye bye. We are setting up a monthly donor program to fix these monthly issues until the economy comes back. No one wants the Purl to go away, but we all must pay!

I love your shop and really hope you stick around!
I planned on blowing all my Christmas gift money there.

The best of luck and success!

Megan,
Sales have about doubled since the panic at the end of summer. I have bought more stock and there is a lot to pick from. We are still not back to any kind of comfortable safe feeling yet. Life in the slow lane! I'll be here for your Christmas$$, don't you worry little chickadee.
